If you don’t think journalists hold authority accountable, you aren’t listening to the right journalists. Plain and simple. I’m sorry you have misinterpreted the motives of so many who work to bring truth to light.

You have no way to know what political party journalists affiliate themselves with unless they have personally told you. A solid percentage of the journalism students I went to school with were openly conservative, and I would not hesitate to assume many working at the publications and networks you mentioned are conservative as well. If you read the opinion pieces published by the Times and the Post lately, many are bent very far to the right. It’s also worthy of note that the majority of media CEOs are conservative.

Many media outlets are based in New York, but not every journalist is from New York. Chuck Todd has publicly stated that he is less likely to hire people who are from either coast because he wants diversity in perspective. You also dismiss major publications like the Boston Globe, Chicago Tribune, and LA Times, which are clearly not near midtown Manhattan.

You might note that I did not say anywhere in my piece that the media is perfect. The media deserves to be criticized when it makes mistakes. More often than not, it corrects its mistakes quickly when they occur. You failed to prove that the mainstream media makes a deliberate effort to deceive the public outside of your personal opinion that they push a certain agenda.

I would encourage you to take note of my point at the end of my piece to educate yourself about media practices. Most of your understanding of how the media runs and the process of media reporting is patently false.

If you could care less about what the feeling in my gut tells me, why did you take the time to write a multi-paragraph response? Proving me wrong seems to be something you care quite a bit about, and your personal frustration toward journalists is apparent. I hope you can find someone to help you with that.
